Corporate

In common with other NHS organisations, NHS Walsall is accountable to a Board made up of Executive and Non-Executive Directors, led by a Chairman.

With the exception of items of a confidential nature, all Board business is conducted in public, at monthly meetings. The agendas and papers are published on this website. For a schedule of Public Board meetings click here.

The Board is scrutinised by the Health Scrutiny Panel of Walsall Council, and performance managed by NHS West Midlands. It is ultimately accountable to the Secretary of  State for Health.

The Board publishes and Annual Report of its activities.

Here are copies of the World Class Commissioning Strategy, Organisational Development Plan and the Communications and Involvement Plan.

NHS Walsall has committed to publishing the expenses of all its Board Members. Click here for details.

Black Country Cluster

NHS Walsall is part of the Black Country Cluster, which also includes NHS Dudley, Sandwell PCT and Wolverhampton City PCT.  On 1 April 2011, new management arrangements took effect and the Cluster now has a single senior management team.

The PCTs in the Cluster remain legal entities and their Boards will continue to meet.  However, there is also a Cluster Board which will meet in public.  To see more information about the Black Country Cluster, and to see copies of Board papers click here.
