The Freedom of Information Act 2000 gives anyone, anywhere in the world, the right to request any information they want from a public organisation in the
Exemptions can apply in some cases which means that everything that is asked for is not necessarily provided. This includes any information that is seen to be confidential or covered by the Data Protection Act 1998.
The aim of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 is to encourage public organisations, such as NHS Trusts, to be more open about the information they possess.
The Publication Scheme is part of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and can be used in conjunction with Freedom of Information requests.
