The ‘Make It Count’ programme is designed to teach children aged 4-7 and their families the importance of exercising on a regular basis and making healthier food choices over a 10-12 week period. Throughout the programme the children learn about the following areas:
The topics are chosen, to include the most important points relating to healthy living. The games that are played are designed so that the children can play them outside of school with no or minimal equipment and are created to include children who don’t necessarily enjoy sports.
Family Fun
is an extension of the Make it Count programme and allows the whole family to enjoy exercising together.
Parents who are concerned about their child’s weight or think they would benefit from being more physically active can self refer via the Lifestyle Link phone number on 01922 444044 to find out when there is a session near you.
Health professionals and teachers can also refer via Lifestyle Link or can complete a referral form (see link) or a letter containing the type of information on the referral form.
