Level 3 Services: Specialist Weight Management Services

The specialist weight management service consists of a Multi Disciplinary Team including a lead consultant, dietician, physical activity advisor and a psychologist. The programme offers patients support through one to ones’ and groups to make healthy lifestyle choices in relation to physical activity and diet. We have 3 providers; The Acute Trust, Heartcare and Jhoots and programmes run for 6 months. All referrals need to be made via a GP. The criteria for level 3 are as below:

BMI of 35 or above  (32.5 or above for South Asian patients) with Diabetes

BMI of 40 or above (37.5 or above for South Asian patients) with Diabetes, Hypertension,
Sleep Apnoea or Dyslipidaemia
