
Walsall’s Public Health department is a busy multi-disciplinary department. It comprises several teams dedicated to improving the health of Walsall’s population. The department is lead by the Director of Public Health and staffed by Consultants in Public Health, Specialist Registrars and Trainees, Medicines Management Pharmacists, specialists in Public Health Intelligence, Dental Public Health Advisors, programme managers and administrative staff.
The department works closely with partner organisations (eg Walsall Council and the Health Protection Agency) to assess the health and wellbeing of Walsall’s population, promote healthy lifestyles, tackle health inequalities, protect and enhance general health and plan and improve healthcare services.
