Norovirus

General Information

Norovirus – also know as winter vomiting disease – is the most common cause of stomach bugs in England and Wales affecting up to one million people a year.

The virus is easily transmitted from one person to another by contacted with the infected person, by consuming contaminated food or water or by contact with contaminated surfaces.

There is no specific treatment apart from letting the illness run its course. Taking simple precautions can limit the spread of the illness.
