Drop in sessions offered in the 10 day countdown to smokefree England

With only 10 days to go until England becomes smoke free, Walsall Stop Smoking Service (WSSS) is holding drop-in sessions to help Walsall residents kick the habit. Staff will be at Sainsbury’s in Reedswood offering help and advice on how to quit before the new legislation comes into force on 1 July.  The sessions will be held on Friday 22 June between 11am and 7pm, Saturday 23 June between 9am and 5pm, Friday 6 July between 11am and 7pm and Saturday 7 July between 9am and 5pm.

Sam Ramaiah, The Director of Public Health for Walsall tPCT, said: “With fewer public places allowing smokers to light up, the drop-in sessions that WtPCT are holding are an excellent opportunity for smokers to give up”.

In addition to the weekend drop-in sessions, Walsall Stop Smoking Service is holding drop-in sessions every Friday in June at 10am at Portland Street, Walsall.

Walsall Stop Smoking Services offer help and support to anyone who is considering stopping.  One to one and group support is available at various times and locations throughout Walsall and an on-going drop in sessions are available every Wednesday at 10am at Portland Street.
