Walsall residents receive second txt in the Christmas health game

Hundreds of Walsall residents who have signed up for their free txt 64446 Health messages will receive their second txt message today for their chance to win an iPod nano. Walsall Teaching Primary Care Trust (Walsall tPCT) is running a Christmas game by phone txt where members of the public can win an iPod if they guess the common word in each message they receive. The message ‘Everyone likes a drink at Christmas and New Year but think before you have one too many. Binge drinking can seriously affect your health’ will be appearing on phones across the borough on Boxing Day.

Paul Jennings, Chief Executive for Walsall tPCT, said: “We all like a couple pints or a few glasses of wine over Christmas but take care not to drink more than the recommended units.”

To play Walsall residents should text the word ‘Health’ to 64446 from any mobile phone. The cost will be their standard txt charge, and there will be no further charge to receive the txt messages. During the first week in January, anyone who sends back that word will be entered into a draw to win an iPod nano.

People signed up to 64446 Health will continue to receive a monthly message but can text ‘Finish’ at any time if they want to stop. People who want to continue to receive the monthly messages but don’t want to take part in the Christmas game can text no iPod to opt out. The Txt 64446 Health campaign is in association with Walsall Football Club.
