Footy fans will be advised on how to get fit and healthy and burn off some of those Easter egg calories this Bank Holiday Monday. Walsall Teaching Primary Care Trust (Walsall tPCT) and Walsall Council Sport and Lesuire Development Services will be at Walsall Football Club informing fans of the development of physical activity programmes across Walsall and the benefit of physical activity to their health.
Debbie Reynolds, Active England Programme Co-ordinator for Walsall tPCT, said: “We are really pleased that we can offer fans the opportunity to learn about all the physical activity services available to them across Walsall. It is recommended that adults do 30 minutes of exercise 5 times a week and we hope to motivate Walsall residents to make changes in their life in order to fit this in and hopefully make a big difference to their health in the future.”
Through projects and inititves the team educates, provides opportunities and supports Walsall residents to become more active. They provide a range of programmes to suit residents who want to make small lifestyle changes, those who suffer with risk factors such as diabetes, people with mobility problems such as arthrities and a weight management clinic for young people.
