Walsall resident’s txt to beat the winter blues

Hundreds of Saddlers fans who have signed up for their free txt 64446 Health messages will receive their fight flu update tomorrow thanks to Walsall Teaching Primary Care Trust (Walsall tPCT). The message, ‘Help fight winter flu with the flu jab. People with chronic illnesses or who are 65+ can get a free flu jab. Is that you? Or someone you know? Contact your GP’ will be appearing at 12 noon on phones across the borough.

Paul Jennings, Chief Executive of Walsall tPCT said: “A lot of people are worried about the flu. There is no need to worry because if you’re at risk you can get a flu jab at your GP surgery.”

Anyone who wants to sign up for their free health updates can do so by texting the word Health to 64446. The service is entirely free but joining the service costs the normal text rate. This is a one-off charge.
