Walsall Football Club supporters get health advice

Walsall Cancer Information and Support Services (CISS) will be joining the side lines at Walsall Football Club this Saturday 25 November to dish out information and advice to women supporters. Fans will be given valuable advice on breast awareness, breast cancer and breast screening as well as cervical screening and cancer.

Sally Killian, Manager of Walsall's CISS, Walsall Teaching Primary Care Trust, said: "We are really pleased that we can offer supporters of Walsall Football Club the opportunity to become more breast aware and encourage women to attend cervical and breast screening. We hope to have as much fun on the day as the supporters do."

Roy Walley, Commercial Director of Bescot Football Stadium said: “We are very pleased that the partnership we have with Walsall Teaching Primary Care Trust is providing invaluable medical advice to our supporters. Most families have some experience of cancer and the effects it can have, and we hope that the information given out on Saturday will be useful to help people try and become more aware.”

Staff will be giving out tips on what changes to look and feel for, what to do if they notice any changes and also information on breast and cervical screening.  There will be a wide range of information leaflets from organisations such as Cancer Research and The Department of Public Health.
