Walsall football fans get sexual health advice

Walsall Teaching Primary Care Trust (Walsall tPCT) and Walsall Council Teenage Pregnancy Team will be wearing t-shirts promoting their motto ‘Condoms R Cool’  at Walsall Football Club this Saturday 3 February.  The team will be handing out free condoms and leaflets filled with information about sexually transmitted infections (STI’s), how to protect yourself from STI’s and how to prevent unwanted pregnancies.

Diane Osborne, Manager of Teenage Pregnancy Team, Walsall Teaching Primary Care Trust, said: “Sexual health is a subject people don’t really talk about. We want to change this and encourage people to become more sexually aware. We hope that people will take into account the informtion we give them on Saturday and take the proper procautions when having sex.”

Roy Whalley, Chief Executive of Walsall Football Club, said: "It is important that people have a full understanding of the need to practice safe sex in terms of sexually transmitted infections and preventing unwanted pregnancies. Walsall tPCT will be giving out vital information at Bescot Stadium and I would encourage all of our supporters to heed the advice on offer."
