Walsall NHS staff celebrate at annual awards
Walsall Teaching Primary Care Trust (Walsall tPCT) is hosting its annual Star Quality ceremony to recognise and celebrate the hard work of its staff. The event, which is being held at Bescot Stadium on Friday 10 November, gives staff the opportunity to showcase areas of good practice and also presents awards to staff for long service and special achievements.
Yvette Sheward, Associate Director of Governance, said: “Star Quality is about recognising and rewarding our staff for their innovative programmes, outstanding achievements and long service within the NHS. This is the third year we have celebrated the achievements of our staff and their dedication to patient care.”
Paul Jennings, Chief Executive of Walsall tPCT, will begin the ceremony at 9am followed by an introduction and presentation from Professor Aidan Halligan, Executive Chair of Elision Health Ltd.
There will be presentations from staff on programmes such as A Patient Centred Approach to Diet and Nutrition in Palliative Care, Social Exclusion and Working towards Social Inclusion and Monitoring Childhood Obesity. The afternoon will start with a speech from Sir Muir Gray, Programmes Director of the National Screening Committee.
Staff who have worked in the NHS for twenty years or more will be presented with an award and small gift as a thank you for their dedicated service. There will also be awards for staff nominated for the Extra Mile Award, Team Award, Community Health Worker of the Year Award, Manager of the Year Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award. A Governance Market Place will be showcasing Poster Presentations from all areas of the NHS with an award for the presentation voted the best throughout the day.
