Parents in Walsall have topped the immunisation charts with the best results in England for protecting their children with both doses of immunisations against measles, mumps and rubella (MMR).
Professor Sam Ramaiah, Director of Public Health for NHS Walsall, said: “We are really pleased that we have the best immunisations rates for both doses of MMR as well as fantastic results for other childhood immunisations such as meningitis. I’d like to take the opportunity to congratulate both NHS Walsall staff and Walsall parents who have worked together to ensure their children are fully protected.”
Figures for the 151 districts in England for Jan - March 2010 by different ages: with Walsall’s position are as follows:

| · | 5 yrs both MMR immunisations 95% 1st in England (runner up Torbay at 94.6%) |
Parents whose children have not had any immunisations or not fully completed a course can contact their GP for an appointment to get their children fully vaccinated.
