The Debate and NHS Walsall AGM
NHS Walsall will be holding its Annual General Meeting at 5pm on 29 September at the Crossing, St Paul's, Walsall town centre. The meeting is open to all members of the public and copies of the Annual Report will be available. In addition to the AGM, NHS Walsall will be holding its first public debate about the NHS Constitution and all members of public are invited to take part in this.
Paul Jennings, Chief Executive of NHS Walsall, said: ‘This is the first time we have organised a debate. The NHS Constitution is really important and we want to know what you think about it. We are going to be passing the views back to the Department of Health and they will influence the outcome. ‘
MyNHS Walsall, NHS Walsall’s membership organisation, is described in the Department of Health consultation document, and many other parts of the country are planning to introduce their own. MyNHS Walsall was the first Primary Care Trust membership organisation.
During the debate there will be a speaker for, a speaker against, contributions from the floor, and then a vote. This will take about half an hour, and then the AGM will follow, which is also expected to last half an hour.
Refreshments will be provided.
