Christmas opening times
Walsall Teaching Primary Care Trust has confirmed Christmas opening times for the Walk-in Centre and for access to emergency contraception.
The Walk-in Centre, which is in the Old Market Square, Walsall, is open normally from 7 am to 8 pm, except for 25-26 December, 1 January and weekends, when it is open 9 am to 5 pm. The Walk-in Centre is able to provide emergency contraception (“the morning after pill” – although it is effective up to 72 hours), but it is not a pharmacy.
The Hatherton Centre, Hatherton Street, is open 9 am to 5 pm Mondays to Saturdays except 24 December 9 am to 1 pm, closed 25-26 December, and closed 1 January 2008. The Hatherton centre provides emergency contraception and access to other sexual health advice and services.
NHS Direct is available 24-hours on 08 45 46 47, and can provide a list of pharmacies.
Accident and Emergency at the Manor Hospital and the 999 service operate as normal. These services are for emergencies only, including suspected heart attack, chest pain, unconsciousness, heavy blood loss, suspected broken bones, deep wounds such as stab wounds, severe breathing difficulties and head injuries.
