Walsall Urgent Dental Care Centre to Relocate
Patients in need of urgent dental care will have more choice about where to go for that care following a move of the local NHS Dental Access Centre (DAC)
The DAC service is targeted at adults and children who are not registered with a dentist and require urgent dental treatment or advice.
The DAC is currently based at the NHS Walk-in Centre in Walsall's Market Square but it will transfer from this location with effect from Saturday 26 March.
The relocation will see one DAC clinic permanently based at Blakenall Village Centre, with a second clinic following a fixed timetable between three outreach NHS Health Centre Dental Departments:
Brace Street in Caldmore
Darlaston
Brownhills
All these sites offer easy access with free parking. As well as increasing the number of venues at which urgent dental care is available in Walsall, the move will reduce pressure on space in the Walk-in Centre which is currently housing both GP and dental services.
The opening hours will be:
Monday ¡V Friday: 8.30am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 5.00pm.
An out of hours DAC service will run from Blakenall Village Centre on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays from 8.30am to 12.30pm.
Patients can access the DAC services through walk-ins and by telephone or referrals from NHS direct or other health professionals.
